Visiting Braga is an intelligent option. Here, the visitor has the possibility to attend a diversified touristic and cultural program, that goes from the Pre-Historic times until our days.
You can equally observe the genuine culture of Minho, recorded in many monuments, etnographic groups, in the parties, fairs and pilgrimages, as well as the rich and varied handicraft.
Here you can find a significative concentration of monuments including the roman period and the baroque. You can find also religious art in churches and monasteries, civil art that belong to the palaces and sunny houses, as well as for the "castros" and "citânias", that keep unchanged the secular tranquility.The museums panorama is rich and varied, allowing a wide cultural vision of a significant inheritage.Museums like D. Diogo de Sousa, of the Biscainhos, the Monastery of Tibães, Nogueira Da Silva and of the Treasure of the Sé are good examples. Side by side with oldest monuments we can, however, find modern infrastructures, that make possible to the visitor to enjoy some leisure and sports activity, such as swimming pools, complexes, theme parks and tennis fields. The "bracarenses" nights can be enjoyed in many ways. New squares that are always full of fun and nice people with live performances, cinemas, theaters, exhibition halls, dance rooms and good restaurants make Braga´s night one to remenber. The city is placed in a road axle of great importance (near highways and good railroads), having therefore reached a great economic, social and cultural development. It has good climate, good table, good wine and good people.
The nature gave Braga everything to live and host well.
There are two important days for the city . In those days Braga is flooded with visitors. The city party S. João (St. John the Baptist) in the 24 of June and the the Holy Week that precedes Easter with some processions and other religious rituals that attract thousands of tourists.
